The Central Family Court has withdrawn the local practice direction which had restricted the Guardian's attendance, although it is said that this was intended to make Guardian's lives easier.

In a letter to Bindmans Solicitors, endorsed by the President of the Family Division, HHJ Robin Tolson QC, the designated family judge, says that the practice direction had been intended to make guardians' 'lives easier' but states that he is happy to withdraw it.
