A professor in Oxford who split from his wife after she “tried to run him over” in her BMW has failed to convince judges that they were never married. Khaled Hayatleh, 50, insisted that he had never legally tied the knot with his partner, although they had lived together for 14 years and have a teenage daughter. He now faces her claim to a stake in his fortune, including a £1 million house in Oxford, after Appeal Court judges ruled that he was a married man.
