Claire Colebourn, a 36 year old mother from Fordingbridge in Hampshire has been convicted of the murder of her three year old daughter, Bethan after saying she would be 'safer in heaven' than with her estranged husband.
Mrs Colebourn's 16 year relationship recently ended following a 6 year marriage to Michael Colebourn.
Mrs Colbourne accused her husband of having an affair with a work colleague, as well as spying on her using her computer.
In her evidence Mrs Colbourne said she had been 'hammered' by Mr Colbourne with her defence counsel in his closing speech describing her as 'a woman in emotional turmoil.'
Following a two hour deliberation Mrs Colbourne was convicted by a unanimous verdict and remanded to be sentenced on Monday.
This is a very said example of the impact a separation can have on the health and emotions of a parent.
