The dictionary definition of foster is:
1. encourage the development of (something, especially something desirable).
2. bring up (a child that is not one's own by birth)
Good foster carers are invaluable and provide caring homes for children who are unable to live with their birth family - whether just overnight or for many years. Good foster carers can, and do, make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people who come into their care by encouraging their development and providing a stable home where a birth family can't.

George is one of tens of thousands of children in the UK who've been taken into care because their parents are unable to look after them. Severely neglected, he struggled to express himself, so when there was something very important he wanted to ask his foster family, he chose an unusual way of doing it.
